If you are experiencing any of the following “red flags” listed below, you will greatly benefit from a private consultation.
Breastfeeding should not be hurting
Not on Day 1
or Day 2
or Day 3
Your baby should be gaining weight after the 4th day of life and be back to birth weight by the time he is 2 weeks old. If your baby is not gaining appropriately, you will want to seek help immediately. It is not normal to feel the need to pump because you are so engorged or because breastfeeding is hurting so much. This typically indicates that your baby may not be latching on properly. Sometimes mothers need more help then they can get from pictures or a book. There is no need for you to be at home frustrated with breastfeeding.
I offer breastfeeding help by providing lactation consultations in the privacy of your home and virtually. My expertise can be helpful during your pregnancy as you prepare for breastfeeding by offering you a prenatal consult and/or my online breastfeeding class. I have the skills, knowledge and experience to help you with the common challenges moms typically experience during the early postpartum days. Challenges such as: low milk supply, oversupply, difficulty with latching, painful breastfeeding, engorgement, tongue-tie, pumping AND other breastfeeding challenges. A private lactation consult will help you organize and prepare for your return to work as a breast pumping and working mom.
