Learn how to breastfeed with our easy and convenient online breastfeeding class

Shelly breastfed all 4 children, however not without challenges such as low milk supply, thrush, clogged ducts, mastitis, and tongue-tie. I am proud to say that I was her IBCLC, guiding her with support and information – but she had to do all the hard work. In true Shelly form, she met every challenge with a “can do” attitude and worked through many difficulties to reach her breastfeeding goals.

My good friend Shelly has recently been met with some new life defining challenges. She has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She is on a 6 month plan to beat the cancer. During this time, she will endure extreme surgeries, 19 rounds of chemotherapy and many down days in between. Insurance is covering the bulk of the treatment costs. However there are sizable out of pocket expenses that are well into the thousands.

To help Shelly & her family, I will be taking $50 from every breastfeeding class sold and donating it directly to Shelly to help cover the cost of all these expenses.

Thank you for being part of our village

Kevin and Shelly have been married 23 years and have 4 children: Megan (18),  Toby (16), Jacob (9), and Maddie (6).

85% of mothers start off breastfeeding. This is wonderful.

However, more than 50% stop well before they have met their goals.

Why? Moms stop because they struggled with pain and low milk supply.

They had difficulties with latch and their babies were not gaining well.

The lack of breastfeeding education and supportive family and friends also contributed to moms stopping breastfeeding.

Moms need help and support during the critical first few months.

Breastfeeding is a learned skill.

Your instructor

Hi there!

As an IBCLC, who supports all breastfeeding families, I have had the privilege and honor to help thousands of mothers enjoy breastfeeding.

I am a writer, an author and a speaker who has presented at many conferences on various topics of breastfeeding education. In addition to being the creator and founder of the All About Breastfeeding class, I am also an IBCLC in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona.

For the last 20 years, I have taught thousands of breastfeeding classes – in hospitals, private homes, birthing centers and large breastfeeding clinics.

I am also the host of the popular itunes podcast called “All About Breastfeeding.” My beautiful breastfed babies are grown, doing their own thing, which left me all the time in the world to create this class.. just for you!

Everything that Lori taught me during our initial lactation consult is exactly what I realized I should have learned in a breastfeeding class. As a Physician  Assistant, I just expected breastfeeding to come naturally and figured whatever challenges I encountered, I had books to help me figure it out. I am glad for Lori’s expertise after my son was born, but surely wished I would have taken her class beforehand.

Talia Lavor PA

I was feeling quite overwhelmed with my “to do” list. after taking Lori’s breastfeeding class, I now feel ready for breastfeeding my baby. My partner even notices how much calmer I am now that I have implemented many of the suggestions made in this course. Lori taught me that preparing for breastfeeding is just as important as learning how to breastfeed Thank you Lori

Ada

Lori is very knowledgeable. Her breastfeeding expertise has certainly helped me prepare for what life will be like the first few months of breastfeeding. Her class is power packed with great ideas and gave me a heads up about things I never would have even thought of. Her checklists really helped me get organized. I loved learning about the most common breastfeeding challenges and how to prevent them.

Frequently asked questions

When should I take a breastfeeding class?

It is recommended that you take your class anytime after 12 weeks.

Why do I need to take a breastfeeding class?

You will want to take this breastfeeding class so you can learn exactly what to expect in the first few days and early weeks of breastfeeding. A well prepared mom is a confident, happy and relaxed mom. You will learn how to latch your baby on, how to build a healthy milk supply and how to ensure you have a well fed baby.

You will learn how to prevent common challenges that moms experience in the early days. When you are ready to go back to work, all the pumping information you need to prepare and organize yourself is right here in this class. This class covers all the “need to know” information about the breastfed baby at all stages between birth and 1 year and beyond.

Why not take a local breastfeeding class?

The average local breastfeeding class just scratches the surface of what you need to know as a breastfeeding mother. Once the 90 minute class is over, you are totally on your own.

With this online class, you are not alone. I am here for you during the early days of breastfeeding and postpartum life. I am here for you, cheering you on, answering questions as they come up, building your confidence, and helping your through any challenges you might experience. As a student in this class, you will enjoy immediate and lifetime access to this class

I already had my baby. Can this class still help me?

Absolutely! If you are having any of the common early breastfeeding challenges such as latching on, painful breastfeeding, engorgement, milk supply, you will easily be able to access immediate help.

This class offers breastfeeding education and support that goes well beyond the early days of breastfeeding. Some topics of interest are – pumping, storing, returning to work, communicating with your childcare provider, bottlefeeding, postpartum and your emotional health, breastfeeding at 3, 6, 12 months and beyond, weaning, tandem nursing. Yes, this is a very comprehensive course. The information is there for when you need it.

Will insurance cover this breastfeeding class?

Each health insurance plan is different. Check with your health plan or Medicaid to find out about your coverage. Under federal regulations, many health insurance plans must pay for lactation services including a breastfeeding class. You may be able to use your pre-tax funds like FSA or HSA to pay for a breastfeeding class. I will be happy to provide you with a paid receipt to submit to your insurance company.
